People were asking me about the different types of fitness training. Well, being a certified fitness instructor and with my professional knowledge, I can provide you the answers and try to explanation each program. So, let’s begin!

Let me start with one of the most known fitness training program there is, aerobics. I can tell that most of you have heard about it, but you have little or no idea of what it really is all about. Let me try explaining it to you. Aerobics is mainly focused on exercising your heart muscles - proper breathing, while exercising is done, for proper oxygenation and proper blood circulation. It helps you to pump blood from your heart to the rest of your body. This will prevent you from acquiring cardiac diseases such as Myocardial Infarction, which may lead to cardiac arrest. Also, it helps you to regain normal heartbeat during resting period.

But, if you are into toning those muscles and making them firm, then, strength training is appropriate for you. This is achieved by applying resistance to your muscles through weight-lifting which gradually increases as your body starts to tolerate each additional weight. The more resistance you apply, the more muscles are used making them firmer and stronger.

If you are an athlete, then the most suitable type of fitness training for you is the sports training program. Intensive exercises and workouts are used in this program. This type, in one way or another, is connected with aerobics. Athletes need their hearts to be in perfect condition to be able to participate in any sports. A weak heart may cause the athlete not to be able to perform his best during a game. Every part of your body should be in perfect condition in order for you to do your job and win that game.

Then there is what we call interval training program. This type is applied by periods of timed relaxation and rest after a rigorous and exhaustive workout. It uses a stopwatch to set an amount of time between rest periods and workouts.

A circuit program is another type of fitness training. It is a combination of strength, aerobics and interval training. The main focus of this program is to burn those unused fats in your body and convert them into energy, and at the same time, making your muscles hard and strong with rest periods between each workout.

The last type of fitness training is the Pilates program. The core muscles are used in this program. This approach enhances your body’s strength, flexibility and ability to balance your body in a certain position during workouts. This helps you to control your body movement more and improves your sense of equilibrium thus prevents hurting yourself. Proper breathing is also practiced during exercise to promote oxygenation.

Now, after discussing each type of fitness training, you have the option to choose which program will be just right for you. So, get on your feet and start your body moving and make your life a healthy one.
